FABRICATED STEEL HANGOFF BRACKET FOR THE OIL AND NATURAL GAS INDUSTRY

Hangoff brackets are used in the oil and natural gas industry to handle routing of cables onto and off of ocean drilling rigs. They are bulky, heavy, and no match for a veteran sheet metal fabricator that can trace its roots to 1870. We use a combination of laser (Mitsubishi 3015LVplus-40CFX 4,000 watt), water jet (Flow I-6012 with an integrated flying bridge), and band saw (Marvel 2125PC) cutting on A500 carbon steel structural tubing and A633 Grade C structural steel plates. Tubing dimension ranges include 10″ x 6″ x 1/2″ thick, 8″ x 6″ x 1/2″ thick, 6″ x 6″ x 1/2″ thick, with plate thicknesses of 1.75″, 1.25″, 1″, 7/8″, 3/4″, 1/2″, and 3/8″. Our CNC HAAS vertical mill handled all machining of components, which were then assembled by our AWS certified (D1.1) welding staff using a gas metal arc MIG welder with Flexcore wire and custom welding fixtures and later Magnetic Particle Inspected. All individual components were examined by a FaroArm CMM, which allows easy verification of product quality by performing 3D inspections, tool certifications, CAD comparison, dimensional analysis, reverse engineering, and more. These large brackets – 60″ x 54″ x 50″ and weighing approximately 1,450 lbs. – were manufactured to tight specifications of ±0.010″, sandblasted, and painted. ISO 9001:2008 certified, we follow 2D CAD drawings , 3D CAD models and customer specifications to produce several of these brackets in only six to eight weeks for delivery to our domestic customer.

We are a full service sheet metal fabrication company for which no job is too large or too small. Contact ABC Sheet Metal now for further information.
